The oil return line fell off somehow (I think that's what it is, it's on the bottom of the turbo and connects to the intake manifold), and I had to take off the turbo to put it back on (if there is an easier way, someone please tell me). Well, now that it's all back together I have an exhaust leak where the wastegate connects to the dp. I wouldn't imagine so because it doesn't go to the o2 sensor, but does this have any negative effects? Thanks.

Yea thats the oil drain line , no fun. If your leak is at the up pipe at the turbo then yea it would make it run bad , but you say were the waste gate hooks to the elbow, if its on the down pipe you should be fine but then again you will still have a exhaust leak that sounds like crap. So if it is at the turbo to the tail pipe you should get no power lost.

hope this helps:)

thanks...that's what I thought. And yeah, that drain line sucks. I put a nice dent in it when putting it back in. You must need to have rubber hands to get that in easily ;)

I installed mine back in using super long needle nose pliers to guide it in that hole.

wtf

still no trouble with the oil return line..

i dont know how you guys have so much trouble with it.. i just lean over the fender and move the turbo while looking at the grommet, it goes in on the 1st try 99.5% of the time!

if you must get a better look at it to get it in. take off the clutch fan assembly (if your car hasnt converted to elec fans) and the shroud and stand on the sway bar and look over behind the turbo that way. Shame on you guys...think of what your woman would say if you couldnt find the hole :p :D jk

TType84 - hey cool...im no problemo either. Say.....how did you get that 99.5% stat ?

After I worked it out I always get 87.6%....maybe I forgot to carry the one.... ;)

i dunno ive done it about a hundred times or so ya know and its only been difficult once (it was at night), so im just guesstimating..

:D

Man, that drain pipe is a real pain in the ass, even standing in the engine bay. Especially after the 6 pack you had to drink to numb the pain from wacking your knuckles on every thing else trying to get the turbo out. And the other 6 pack for the fun of it!
