Well its time to replace my Pypes aluminized exhaust, this time I am wanting to go with a 304 SS system . It looks like I have three choices, RJC 3",TR Custom 3" and Kirban Performance offers a 2.5" 304 SS exhaust as well. I am going to be running a axle mounted swaybar so I need to make sure the exhaust wont interfere with it. So which exhaust are you guys running with this swaybar setup? Thanks Kyle.

Pypes offers a stainless system. Its not the same grade of stainless as the other kits you mention though.

Yeah if the Pypes SS system was made out of 304 I would buy it in a heart beat, I loved my Pypes aluminized exhaust.

I really like my RJC, I have a stock sway bar.

A buddy of mine has the ATR 3" SS exhaust, which is exactly like the RJC 3" system, he installed it about 11-12 years ago and it still looks like brand new and sounds great too. I am leaning towards RJC but read some posts where some people where unhappy about how it fit. I realize that when you do an exhaust you might have to modify something's to make it work,no big deal just as long as you have the tools, time and ability to do so. My main concern is I have a LPW racing "Ultimate" rear end cover with there axle tube brace kit, so I don't know if there is enough room for both.

TR kit here. Polished 3 inch and it fits great. I have HR bar and had to modify the tailpipes to avoid hitting the ends of the bar. No big deal. Mods to performance cars are always necessary. If you had the big diameter swaybar that mounts in the stock local, it is the best exhaust system I have seen.

Coach what mods did you do to the tailpipes, was it as simple as cutting some material from the end of the tailpipes that slide into the mufflers to bring the tailpipes back some to clear the HR mounting bracket on the rear? Thanks,Kyle.

I'm happy with the RJC system, using it with stock sway bar.

How did the system fit ? I read some posts that after some people did get it to fit they had issues of the exhaust hitting the rear end if they hit a bump in the road.

Pypes stainless kit with racepro mufflers here. Love it.

How long have you had the Pypes system ? I really would rather purchase a 304 SS cat back exhaust so I never have to buy another one, but it is still an option since their aluminized one I have fit pretty good. I just kick myself for not buying the ATR SS system back when I they where in business, but it was double the price of the Pypes. Oh well live and learn, lol.

Fit was tight, my rear end is very close but it doesnt hit. I do hit every so often off the PS floor board, but I think I can tweak it to make it fit.

The Pypes system sounds awesome. They are stainless just not sure the grade of stainless. If your wondering about the sound I have a set of mufflers for sale at 60 shipped. You can bolt them on try them out and if you like then order the cat back with no mufflers. (cost is $63 a piece new, half off at $60).

No, I dished the tailpipes inward where they were touching. It requires some welding. Im doing it now. I had it hammered in for a few summers. Its not much clearance that is needed. I dont have any pics of it now. The car is 125 miles away at Janis Transmissions.

Installation was somewhat of a PITA it took two of us a couple of hours but i kinda expected that. Only issue was the passenger side pipe didn't slide very far into the muffler so the clamp will not hold it very well. We ended up tacking it just for insurance. I have had no problems with the exhaust hitting the rear.

I have read elsewhere that its very difficult to bend a 3" pipe tightly enough to clear all the rear axle components, especially in a dual exhaust application.

I was originally going to purchase the RJC 3" system, but heard a few stories of fitment issues. Plus I was concerned about overall noise & the possibility of drone. I eventually ordered the Pypes system from Summit because I was able to see it installed. The fit looked high & tight, plus it sounded real good. I have yet to install the exhaust so cannot comment on that yet. The main drawbacks to the Pypes system is a lesser grade of stainless & they are manufactured in China. I really try to avoid Chinese products as much as possible.

Good luck
