I was wondering will a 3.5 single shot help the E/t on a 500hp or do I need to stick with 3in down and 2.5 catback help guys.

Not sure about a 3.5 but I'd definitely do a 3 inch dp and a 3 inch straight shot. Don't even bother with a 2.5 cat back. My 2 cents.

A 2.5" dual cat back GN will run DEEP....I mean DEEEEEEP in the 9's. Don;t let ANYONE tell you different!!!! Geno's GN (street car) has run 9.70 @ 138+ with an OLD 2.5 ATR dual exhaust with Dynomax mufflers. I personally drove it to a 10.25 @ 136 mph. (first pass in the car;) ). I think it might even be an OLD 2.25" ATR system. I'll have to verify with calipers, but I think it IS a 2 1/4". I am amazed at what some people think is NEEDED to go fast. He does have a 3.5" down pipe and a TA-49 turbo, I think, or maybe it's a 'little' bigger than that.;)

2.5" exhaust is more than most folks will ever out flow. Dennis Hogan runs right at 150mph through a dual 3" with THREE mufflers, too. Why does everyone think they NEED 5" dual pipes to run 10.50's? Maybe their tune-up is off? Naaawww......Must be the pipes.

I still prefer a 3 inch. Why fake it? These cars aren't dual exhausts. Besides doesn't the dual 2.5 cat back weigh more than a single 3 inch single shot?

Just my 2 cents

The dual 2" exhaust I took off weighed 15 pounds more than the single 3" that replaced it.

I dont see 9's thru exhaust on a TA49
I call BS on that one
TA49's dont run like that

These cars may not be dual but they just plain look better with two big pipes coming out behind the rear tires i am takin a real hard look at the new rjc exhaust interesting they say they opened the dump on a mid tens car and got no gain!!! simple and effective right up my alley ;)
