Well I don't really know where to start.

As some of you already know, I recently bought my white 86' T-Type from GA and don't know much at all about the car and I would really like to know the previous owners (ALL of them!) and be able to contact the guy who bought or built the engine and installed it. All I would like is just to know more about my car!

If anyone here knows this car and has any information on it please PM me!

The guy I bought it from had no information at all and couldn't tell me who he bought it from. He couldn't tell me anything about it period and since then he has refused to return my calls that I left at his work.

SO, Is there anyway I can get a complete detailed background on my car so I can contact the previous owners of my car for some info on it?

I already tried the stupid Car-Fax report that came back with two owners (Me & the guy I bought it from) Boy that's helpfull !!

Is it me or is it Car-Fax has started to suck on there background checks?

If someone can Truely help me achive this "Complete" background check please let me know.

Pictured below is when it came home from GA.

Thank You!

Do you have any friends in Law Enforcement to maybe to a VIN check, or go to your local courthouse, they might be able to help.

Wonder why the guy won't even give you the common curtousy to return your calls?

cops only show who is presently registered on the title. you have to go to the secratary of state and have them do a title search for you.

Unfortunately many states won't release info on previous owners of vehicles for privacy reasons. I will bet that you will turn up zero at the DMV on that account, but it would be worth a try. LEO's can't get anything on a VIN except the current owner, unless necessary for an investigation, and then there are many hoops to jump through. Ask me how I know? I bought a 70 Chevelle SS396 and wanted some history. I tried everything, every avenue, and came up against a stone wall of red tape, unhelpfull DMV, etc. etc.

Hopefully someone here recognizes the vehicle for you. Good luck, sir! :)

edit-sweet ride, btw!!!

Well I live in RURAL Kansas:biggrin: and my best friend is the Sheriff:cool:

He can figure it out Scot! When you buy a vehicle out of State here they run the VIN through a nationwide database, I did it on all 4 GN's I have owned and the TTA.

Oh Crap-- did I just post that on a bulletin board.....................LOL

Here are the rules in Georgia:

Georgia Department of Revenue

Times have sure changed. I researched my old '64 Pontiac back in the early 90s all the way back to the original owner (I was the 3rd). Went back from Michigan to California. I suppose restrictions due to privacy is better considering the nutjobs and hacker/swindlers out there these days.
