External or internal wastegate

I have a TE-44 with Champion heads and intake, alky injection, 42.5lb injectors and a 2800 stall.

Should I upgrade to an external wastegate, or will the internal one still do the job? (I have orderded a turbonetics controller for under the dash).

Internal with do just fine for your combo. I use to have the same exact combo!

I have learned so far with external or internal, external is the way to go. Yeah, internal may work for your combo now, but external is alot more controllable and accurate. But if you go external, you want to go off the header, not on the down pipe. With my t66 combo etc., I could not controll boost at ALL with internal, it would just push that little puck open, blew head gaskets and all. Goodluck, your combo sounds good.

Thanks guys, I will go with the setup the way it is for now. If it gives me grief, I will order an external. Concensus on what brand?
