External wastegate question

Some external wastegates are on the DP and some are built into the header. What's the difference? I'm wanting to run a 3.5 or 4" DP with 4 bolt headers, so I guess I would have to get the wastegate built into the header? Thanks!

Off the header will work better.
With that being said, I had no problems with boost control with my old ATR on Pipe set up.
This was on my 234ci Aluminum Headed motor with a 70MM P Trim Turbo.
