Thats the old cast iron Saginaw in there. IIRC it's the old 3.11 low gear version. You'd probably chew all the teeth off a gear the first time you popped the clutch. IIRC the most HP ever put through a Saginaw from the factory was about 255HP. The most common application was the 67-69 Camaro with the 255 horse 350. I've got a 3.50 low gear Saginaw in my 75 CosworthVega and it's fun with the 3.73 gears in the back but I dont think that combo would work to good with a motor that doesn't rev higher than 5K RPM.
Oh wow I didn't think it would have a Sag in it. I would've thought a super T-10.
Well since it's a Sag wouldn't it be easy to convert it to a Muncie?
I did have a Sag in a 71 Nova once, car had a 350 in it and was a lot of fun to drive. Was told it was a Muncie and didn't know the difference until i did some research. After that I made sure not to drive it hard.
