one of the most common problems with the factory GM cassette stereos is that the drive belt becomes worn or breaks. if this happens, the unit will not play a tape and will continually "click" (reversing the tape direction indicator). many times the tape will not then eject either.
if you are having or have had this problem, you need a new drive belt.

i have 7 correct NEW drive belts available for $2 each shipped.

let me know if you could use one (or more). :)
thanks ....... bw jones

Drive belt for

cassette....I'll take two if available - one for sure. Thanks.

drive belt

Looks like they're all spoken for. Any idea on finding another source for these? Thanx

I'll take one if available. That's exactly what mine does. Share the wealth. Thanks

How about a reference # off the packing? That way we may be able to search for the kit. Thanks! :wink:

cassette drive belts

I sent PM's with payment info to those who PM'ed and posted first. If you did not receive a PM, it means there were no more belts available at this time. The supplier I have for the belts requires a $25 minimum order of parts ....... when I place an order for some other parts in a week or so, I will also order however many belts are needed for everyone that is wanting them. And I will then post on this thread to notify everyone that there are more available. I will only order as many as are requested ......... so, if there are any others that need one (or more), let me know. :cool:

belt size

for any who wish to know .... the new replacement belts are as follows:
thickness = .060" and inside circumference = 8.745"
the belt replacement will not, by any means, cure all problems associated with the factory cassette stereos, but will surely correct a very high percentage of the units that have the symptoms described in the initial post
