How tight should the knock sensor be? Will it read more knock easier if it's tighter or looser?

Thanks

The factory torque specs. call for 14 ft. lbs. If the sensor is torqued more than 14 it could cause false knock readings. If its torqued less than 14 it might not pickup detonation where it supposed to, to help protect the engine.

HTH.

Make sure it is installed "dry", preferably with some "never seize".
No teflon tape etc.

Also, it is "nice" if you can borrow a calibrated wrench.
I have noticed some to be off by 2 ft/lb in that range. (That is around a 15% difference from the target)
Add variables such as reading error, lube effect on torque value etc ........ you could miss the mark by a good %.
