Would a factory moonroof always have the code cf5 inside the trunk sticker on an 86 GN? Is there another code to look for or is cf5 the correct one?

Yes- CF5 is the RPO for the astro roof; also, look at the edge of the astro-roof hole. The edge on the factory roof is rolled under, not just cut into the top. Finally, the factory roof will have a hole in the headliner for manual override.

My dealer installed moonroof has a hole for the manual over ride as well. I also have the handle for it still in the bag!

The CF5 code should also be on the cowl tag on the lower left hand corner of it, which is located under the drivers windshield wiper area easily seen with the hood open. It's painted the same color as the car.
