In addition to Bluetooth / corded USB-ish. I'd like to make sure that the sound performance is also upgraded to compliment amp, components and a small subwoofer.

Anyone know a guy?

That is the problem with the OEM radios. The sound performance will not be enhanced or improved at all. IIRC my install guy said there is some kind of electrical thing (not official term lol) that can increase/enhance the clarity.

The stock amp was paired with low quality speakers, so there'd be no reason for GM to build a high fidelity unit. The speakers couldn't reproduce it, so no point on spending the money. This lack of fidelity is going to carry through to every part of the unit, so even tapping into the line level input to the speaker amp section isn't going to give you results that track with modern equipment.

If you mostly care about authentic appearance but want the convenience of modern features, get the stocker modified by all means. But If you really care about fidelity, you need to go aftermarket.
