I've got a false knock problem I'm trying to get a handle on. My Direct Scan readings show knock as high as 14.9 degrees. I'm getting knock as soon as I launch the car. It will peg at 14.9 degrees right around 4000 RPM and then gradually dissipate. The reason I know it has to be false knock is that I show 0 KR in 3rd gear at WOT. This was on C16 fuel at only 16 pounds of boost. It's hard to imagine that it is real knock considering there is no knock on the top end while the engine is under the most load. I tried putting the car in park, blipped the throttle up to 4000 RPM and the knock sensor went crazy and showed 30 knock counts. :o I've looked and don't see anything loose under the hood. I've got a tie down strap and the motor doesn't seem to move an excessive amount. I need some ideas on what to check here. Thanks. :)

How does the car 60 ft. for your ET. If the ECM is pulling timing out all the way to 330 ft mark, performance would certainly suffer and you would notice that for sure. is car laying down all the way to 3 gear?

maybe something is loose and it is making it vibrate at that range of rpm's. Do you have an aftermarket cam with noisy lifters? That can also set the knock sensor off at higher rpm's.

Maybe something in the exhaust, i.e. downpipe may be hitting underneath the car. What's your exhaust system setup? Downpipe?
