Fan turns on at 196?????? and my TPS is 36 at idle??????

I am new to the GN nation. I had a problem with the fan coming on at all. So after replacing the temp sensor on the intake and the relay for lo speed it works now. But at 196 Says the scan master. Which was bought because my vdo gauges that came with the car are............... Yeah a little off to say the least. On the paperwork with the scanmaster says my tps should be around 42 @ idle. Not sure at all on that subject any help is much appreciated.Thanks.

What thermostat do you have installed?

And take an inventory of your chip set in the ECM.
Some vendors like a slightly different TPS initial setting at idel than others.
But they are all close.

Generally speaking approx .42-.43
However - that is not mandatory
It is used as a starting point for scaling.

I will have to get their rest of the readings tomorrow from the Sm. Not sure on the temp sensor I remember it was Sticking out towards the from of the car from the intake not up. I also need to find out how to get the chip out of the ecu how does the silver box pop open? I will look that over tomorrow also.
