hay guys, i'm about to take a trip to vegas, but i can't get off my mind what happened last time, ( going from memphis-to-atlanta everything was going fine when all of a sudden the plane drops hard , and i mean hard enough to lift you off your seat and then it does it again by this time all the passengers started looking at each other with that look in the eye  , and on the third time you hear " OH $HIT" needles to say we all cheered when we landed. I'm flying with my two sons and it's nerve wrecking on me, i would never want to place them in a dangerous Environment, I was in the army traveled my share but after what happened, Am i worrying for nothing? i'll be on U.S.AIR 6197 mia-denver and then denver to vegas,

man i needed to get this off me,

Really doesnt sound like a fear of flying fobia,,your just worried for your boys, like any father would....

You are at higher risk just driving on a road. You'll be fine, i flown countless times. ;)

I find the turbulence exciting.

I kinda wish they would do some dives like the nasa vomit comet so we could float around.

Then again, I'm trying to become a pilot as we speak so I guess I have a different perspective :)

1. I think you'll be fine and after all...Your just being a responsible father :)

2. If all else fails....Drink a couple of Jack Daniels with coke..it calms your nerves rather nicely

Fly by wire a/c controlled by more computers than a best buy has on their shelves-dont worry-you know how computers are.

thanks guys, :) i really need you guys on this,

thanks again, i hope i could one day return the favor, of putting someone's mind to rest as you guys have done for me.

and raymond i think i will have a small glass of jack & coke :)

Yeah how many runways do you have two planes landing in opposite directions separated by a couple yellow lines. And how many telephone poles, street signs, and light poles are there along the side of the runway.

Don't forget all of the planes they parallel park along the side of the runway and the soccer mom landing on the crossing runway while yelling at the kids in back and talking on her cellphone while putting on makeup and drinking her coffee.

Yeah flying is much safer than driving.

It's funny how we worry about stuff more as we get older. I use to love to fly, but now I don't find it very enjoyable. I'm not scared to fly, but I do worry more about crashing now that I have kids. I also worry more about getting in an accident on my motorcycle. I worry more about my kids getting hurt or growing up without a father.

Don't worry about flying. Our fears are just that....kind of like riding a roller coaster. Scary as hell, but very safe. I have to remind myself that everytime I get on an airplane.

You are not alone, I don't fly very well either these days. I know statistically it's safer, but when the plane moves suddenly in a direction I don;t think it should: I will rip the arm rest out.

there is an easy fix for it. get in a small plane and fly around for a while. turbulence that might give your drink a little jiggle in a big plane will half way turn a small plane upside down. then the big bumps in an alirliner will feel like nothing. and being able to look straight ahead out the window does wonders for calming your nerves.
