I have a trans in a 95 Chevy (3100 V6). Recently it will start in 3rd gear with the shifter in the OD position which according to the GM manual is "fail safe" mode. Now this particular vehicle does not have a typical shift pattern of PRN OD 321. It has one that is like an AOD Ford with PRN OD D L
If I pull the shifter back into the L position it will start in 2nd gear. When manually shifter it upshifts fine and has 2nd, 3rd and overdrive. Reverse also works great.
Fluid is clean and full. Car has no codes stored. Last time I had this issue with another 4T60E it was a failed "A" solenoid. I figured I would ask before I go pulling the subframe and the side cover out. Does this sound like a failed solenoid?
