I'm in a debate right now with tires. My tires are original and they don't grip worth crap. They are hard as rocks like on Fred Flinstone's car. I am going to run Michelin Pilot XGT H4's on the car. I was debating on getting the Mickey ET street radial for the rears. They look a lot like the Yokohama A0732R I think it was. I don't drive the car a whole lot so I'm not too concerned about tread life. As long as they last me a year or two I'll be happy. A close friend of mine who I trust and is a GN guy told me to get the Mickey's.

Click on the header that looks like this when you get there:
11-17-03 MICKEY THOMPSON® INTRODUCES ET STREET® RADIAL

My car is a peg legger as well right now so I'm planning on a posi soon. (As soon as I can find one that isn't 400 bucks)!

I know there is a few officers on this list, what do you guys think? Am I waving a big flag to get pulled over? They are street legal but I was wondering if some were not familliar with these if I would get pulled over a lot or not?

Thanks for the input!

If the car is just a fair weather/occasional driver I'd definately go for the looks/performance of the Mickeys. There is also some selfish interest in this as I haven't heard many opinions on them and I'd like to see what more guys think of them. Good luck with your decesion but for me it would be an easy one... :)

The mickeys will stink in the rain so if that is any concern then don't do it.

If it is never going to be driven in the rain then get them they will hook better on the dry pavment.

Oh and when you actually find a set for sale let me know since no one that I know of is stocking them right now!!

Get the Nitto DR's.

They work well with the Michelins up front on both my cars and work fine in the rain too.

Available now and you can race with them too if you want.

Multi-purpose proven good tire. :)

Should last you 10K miles or so and maybe 10 years on your car. ;)

I'd go with the BFG DR's if you NEVER drive in the rain and want to hook a little better on the street or at the track.

Also available now.

I have a pair of Mickey ET slicks for racing at the track. I have to get rid of the peg legger first before I can run them. This is just for rapid accelertation at times :) and general driving. The mickey's are supposed to be available mid June.

Don't know how well the new MT tires will perform in the rain. A peg leg car is probably a nightmare to drive on a slick surface with any kind of tire. I would also suggest checking out the Nittos. I managed to pull a 1.73 60 ft. with my old pair of 275/50s and they had as good wet traction as any normal radial performance tire.

Salvage- what size michelins are you running up front and which model tire cause im looking for some ideas as well?

I use the 235/60/15's. 7" aftermarket rims, Amer. Racing Products.

No rubbing with them yet either, unlike other 235's I have used that rubbed on lock to lock turns.

Mine aren't worn too much yet on either car but I am impressed with them so far even though they are a rather hard tire overall.

Wet weather handling is good. :)

I think these are them.
