First time pulling motor......

need tips on pulling the motor out plan on leaving trans in the car.

Need to give it a good cleaning and plan on doing some powder

coating and plating.

Any tips on seperating the trans from the motor?

Where do you hook the chains to?

What all needs to come out before the pull?

I assume you're using a cherry picker? If so put the car up on all fours w/ jackstands. You can then use two other stands and a long pipe to sit the trans on, or just use a floor jack with a tranny plate on it or just one jaclstand on each ear of the trans housing.

Release hood shocks, that will allow the hood to swing all the way up.

I usually place a jack under the tranny. You have a lot of wiring to pull and dis-assemble.

Factory has a hook on the passenger side. Then you can use a bolt through the chain on the rear drivers side either intake or cyl head.

unhook hoses, unhook mounts, unhook wiring, unhook tranny/converter, unhook IC, unhook.....
