I am purchasing a 9x11 converter and it's rated at 3600 flash stall. Would this be the same or equal to a 3200 foot stall?

What the rule of thumb?

I understand that all motors are different. What's the average?

A turbo car does not work by "flashing" the converter. You don't have any power at idle speed, nor when you immediately hit the throttle. There's a turbo lag, so, the whole reason for us having a good stall, is to allow you to hold the brake and "stall up", therefore building boost on the line.

I've never seen anyone try to flash a Turbo Regal. To the best of my knowledge, it physically won't work, even with the best converter.

As comparison, I have always thought that the flash stall of the stock D5 was up into the low 3000, when you mash the gas at the line. I have not verified this with a datalogging scan tool, but have read similar to that on board.

Appreciate the info. I am not trying to flash the converter. My question was geared towards trying to understand the approx difference between the two. As stated "I am purchasing a 9x11 converter and it's rated at 3600 flash stall. Would this be the same or equal to a 3200 foot stall?"

Meaning: the vendor has only advertised the flash stall, which is in this case, 3600. I am trying to figure out what the foot stall would be. I have a PT52 and I am trying to see if this is a good converter for my current combo.

Thanks

Sounds just fine for the 52. My convertor can actually flash stall up to 4000+ with a really hard launch. That is using Directscan to see where I have floored the gas and the car has started moving yet.

Yours sounds like it will be fine. You won't really know until you get it in the car and see what it does.

Sorry if I misinterpreted your original question. But as mentioned by C&CGN, "yes", your assumptions should be accurate. Keep in mind that the amount of power you hit it with will determine just how far it stalls or flashes.
I have a friend here in Houston that just purchased the same converter, and he loves it! I haven't driven it yet, but he claims it's not real noticeable until you lean on it. Good street manners, which is always a key selling point for me.
And as I'm sure you're aware, they'll give you one free stall change if it doesn't fit your recipe originally.
BTW, the stock D5 is rated at 2400rpm foot brake stall.
