haha. it actually been a while since i have seen your car. i dont really know if i want to paint it flat black yet, but it would be nice to have something different.

btw-how is your car? is it running yet?

Flat Black Would Look Cool.

What is Used to Prevent Smudges? A Satin Clear Coat?

Gettin there. I have thought a paint job that would be unique but subtle, but I think I have decided that it just being a GN is different. But I have thought long and hard about an almost black charcoal metallic. I think a flat black GN would look unfinished IMO. Or a VERY dark color that looks black at night.

IMO, it would look like Hell. Old hot rods can look great with flat black, but on a GN, I think it would look bad and unfinished.

To me, certain colors or schemes can only be used on select vehicles. A Plum Crazy purple 'Cuda makes perfect sense, but throw that paint on a Taurus and prepare to be laughed at/vomitted on :D

You'd need to put an air suspension on it and drag plates so that you could throw sparks going down the road.

Actually it would look pretty cool if you had a finished graphic on it like some flames.

Jesse James has a flat black Regal with chrome wheels and trim. I've seen it a few times on Monster Garage. I think the car does look neat. It wouldn't look right with black trim in my opinion.

i was thinking about maybe putting some kind of simple pinstripe on it.

im not saying that i want to do this. im just kind of playing around with the idea. the goal of flat black isnt to look darker then normal black(in response to turbobuickman's post), it is just for something different. i dont always want my car to look exactly like 20,000 others produced. i am really just wanting to see what it would look like...you never know, it might be kind of cool looking. i guess i should have expected a lot of negative comments though (it seems like most buick enthusiasts are pretty stubborn and stuck in their ways/opinions)

with that said...im more then likely going to end up with a nice glossy black paint job.;)

If you want unique then go with a different color all together, but flat paint just wont look good IMO. As far as it being like 20,000 others, I dont mind at all because I sometimes go months at a time without actually seeing another GN. :D
