Synthetic versus regular ATF
Synthetic's two primary advantages over regular ATF is that it does not break down as rapidly at elevated temperatures and the fluid maintains its benefical lubrication properties longer--simply said it is longer lived.
If you change your ATF often AND use a trannie cooler, don't waste your money on synthetic ATF. But if you expect to run your trannie for over 20K, use it.
I only change my engine oil--synthetic Amsoil--once each year. I've been doing this since 1992 in a dozen cars. I had engine failures unrelated to lubrication--overrevs, pre-ignition blow throughs on pistons. Everytime I reused engine parts to build replacement engines--rings and pistons, main bearings, oil pumps--and found the engine's insides perfectly clean and like new. I assume that the ATF is providing unseen benefits in my trannies--all with Amsoil synthetic.
Regarding type F and Bruce juice, I have no idea.
