Drill hole and use pop rivet

The only way to clean-it-yourself is to drill an 1/8" hole along the outside diameter close to the weld joint so all of whatever kind of fluid you put into to clean it will drain completely out.

After you are satisfied that it is cleaned and completely drained, put a pop rivet in the hole to seal it--DO NOT use the kind that the head pops off. You may want to put just a little epoxy on the rivet for insurance.

Use something like mineral oil to flush with--pour it in the snout and shake it all around. Then, flush one last time after the mineral oil comes out clean and clear with ATF.

so i cant just put some trans fluids in it and shake it around an dump it out

IF THE CONVERTOR doesnt have any junk in it ie metal etc. you can do it by taking an old flyweel, placing it on a 5 gallon bucket ,and flipping the convertor upside down overnite . then fillit with clean oil and do it again this should suffice.or your local trans shop can flush it in 5 minutes with the right equiptment. a word of advice ;if you are looking to reuse a convertor thats cool i aint knocking it why spend money on something if you dont have to.dont drill it because if you damage it youll definitely be digging in your pocket for a costly repair or another convertor.and that aint pennywise
