Gonna email ya a pic of what's on my car..............dunno if it will help at all? Back when I bought it I asked here and if I remember correctly someone told me it was a commom swap?

Looked everywhere for the media............no dice. Have a set of postons I need to coat.......stuff I have (turbo X coating) says you have to specifically use it. sux :(

Thanks Kevin. That looks like a 86/87 style WG. I should have at least one of those laying around, maybe I'll try it. Before that though, I did notice today that the mounting bolts for the actuator still look kind of suspect whether or not they are actually holding back the actuator under heavy stress. I think I will be taking off my compressor housing to helicoil or retap the bolt holes. Anyone have any advice for that? Any seals or such to deal with?

By the way did notice that 86/87 WG mounted on your turbo is up higher on the compressor housing, using a different bolt to mount. Will your hood close with that thing up there?

Solved the problem!

Okay are your ready for this.......... :o :o . It was the plug wires. Yes... I said plug wires :o .
I guess that should have been one of the first things I checked, but hey Ive got $75 10mm Magnecors! They better be doing there job, right? So yes, after trying everything I could think of I swapped out the wires for a cheap set I had.
Now what Im thinking is that its probably only one of the magnecors that was causing the problem and the others are probably good (right?). Should I get a replacement for the bad one(s) or should I just grit my teeth and forget about the super-duper expensive wireset and order something else? I spoke to Magnecor a couple of years ago and they told me they would sell single wires if ever needed in whatever length needed. How do I figure out which wire(s) are bad? I was thinking of checking resistance with ohm meter, but is there some sort of rule of thumb or chart somewhere that I can see what #s to look for? I think the lengths would make a difference in the #s........sooo, if anyone has any info or advice please let me know. Thanks.

P.S. I did have some issues with the WG, such as the stripped bolt holes in the compressor housing. Also, while testing with mityvac saw that the WG I was using wouldnt hold pressure when applied. It would just slowly bleed down. Tested two others and they held pressure rock solid with no problem.

They should all be the virtualy the same. The one that has high or no resistance will be the bad one or ones
Hope this helps
Uwe :)

Yeah, just check the ohms with a meter and look for one that's way different from the others.
