Hi all, I bought this 1987 WE4 about a year and a half ago with every intention of bringing it back to it's original state. But, life happens and I haven't been able to devote 10 minutes to the car in a year or so and it looks like I won't for a while(we had twins). I was really excited to get the car because it's a WE4 with 73k miles and only ever had one owner. So I bought the car and shortly after getting it home had collected all the parts to bring it back to life. Shortly after gathering all the parts the twins happened..... I had no idea what I was in for. So the car has been sitting for a year with all the parts for it sitting in the garage. I finally came to terms with the fact that I won't have the time to do right by it so I'm gonna let it go.
The major body issues it has are deck lid rot just above the bottom lip of the deck lid, windshield reveal rust, trunk jamb rot, bumper fillers missing, cracked header panel and the paint is shot. I do have a deck lid, trunk jamb, bumper fillers, windshield reveal and a header panel for it.
When I bought the car it had been at a mechanic's shop for some time while the owner was in the hospital and I was told the owner of the shop had a drug problem and started selling parts off of it. So the intercooler, battery and the hoses for the induction were all missing. I got a stock intercooler and all the pipping for it. I also got some other under the hood parts such as plugs, wires.....stuff it needs as well after sitting for so long.
The interior isn't in that bad of shape. No major rips or tears in the seats or carpet. The dash is in nice shape. The headliner is missing and the rearview mirror is sitting on the passenger seat. When I first brought it home I wanted to jump right to the trunk jamb repair so I pulled out the back seat and was about to pull out the rear window, but at that point the twins were born and everything came to a stop. So I sealed the rear window up so no water could get in and haven't touched it since.
I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of the other parts I have to go with the car. I hate to sell it but with 5 kids now I don't even have the time to even drive my GN that's finished let alone reassemble the WE4. With the price of the car and the parts I have for it I'm a little over $5,000 into it so that's what I'm asking for the car and all the parts, $5,000. Oh, by the way the location is in the suburbs of Philly. Thanks, if anybody has any questions just let me know
