Hello all.
I am an Australian building a custom supercharged engine and looking for well priced Forged Pistons to suit.
In the US you have much cheaper pistons than us as performance V6 engines are not popular though that is gradually changing.
I will be using an Eaton M90 charger as some of your cars run.
I particuly want to save money and buy a set of forged pistons and H-beam rods. The journal size is different but it will take minimal machining along with the skirt of the pistons I think to allow me to use Turbo Buick items.
If anyone has or knows where I can get a set of forged pistons for around $450 US delivered to Australia or there abouts I would be most grateful.
There are frustratingly two people on EBAY selling sets but they will 100% not post to Australia so I am up the creek. Here forged pistons sell for around $1500 and I won't pay that unless I really really really have to.

Advice and ideas are very welcome, please email me if your interested in what I am building or would like to chat.

Thanks in advance for your help.

What about TRW power forged pistons?
the make them for the Turbo Buick in STD and oversize.
Not sure if that will fit you needs but they are ready made and a very reliable performance piston.

I think your are looking for pistons for a 3800 L67 engine. Try intense-racing.com. They have a forum as well. Diamond makes the forged pistons that will not require any machining for that application besides maybe boring to your needs. I apologize if I misunderstand your question, but I would not try to convert these pistons for your application. GM made rods for the L32 engine that are very strong. The L32 is the series 3 supercharged v6 from the factory. These rods have handled 500 horsepower with no problems. If I am understanding your question correctly please let me know if you have any questions. I have a lot of experience with these engines.

3800 L67

Thanks for the replies guys.
The L67 is to us in Ausralia, a later engine.
I think the stroke length etc is different too.
Over here a few have used Turbo Buick rods and pistons and had the minor machining done successfully.
The turbo buick items combine to be the same height as our rods and pistons despite different pin height.
I have priced JE for $820 US delivered to Australia. That isn't bad but be happier to get down to around $500 or so.

I will keep hunting for info and will check out Summitracing too.

Thanks all
Any other advice, suggestions etc ?

ImpalaSS :
So I could look for L67 forged pistons in the states? What is the pin height or combined length of rod and piston usually in these engines.
If I can get away without machining, then all the better. I will not be looking at 500 HP but to have that strength won't hurt.

Funny how you're on here giving advice about pistons while ripping off other members by selling them trashed out pistons!
