I took note of my FP before putting on my power plate. The residual pressure right after I shut the car off was 42 lbs. I installed the plate and started it back up, but now all i saw was 40. Could the pressure have been lowered by something I did? Or is it more likely that FP rises when the car is actually driven, and that's why it was 42 when I came in from driving and only 40 after the plate install because all I did was start the car and let it idle. FWIW, vacuum-off FP is now 49. I forgot to check what it was before the plate.

Thanks!
Jeff

You should not have had to disturb the fuel rail for the plate install, so nothing you did should have caused the difference.

The difference is most likely the way you're taking the reading. Where the conditions identical? Doesn't sound like it. Gauge accurate???

I was just a bit worried that I either inadvertantly screwed something up, or the plate somehow altered the air/fuel, but I guess not. I'm sure it was lower due to the idle reading vs reading it after driving the car.
I guess I might be going through this paranoia again in a few days when I hot wire my fuel pump. I heard it often RAISES pressure (?).
