I finally found the cause for my knock trouble in first gear. The car is leaning out due to tire spin is all I can come up with. I went to the track with slicks for the first time and no knock. I put the street tires back on it and capped the exhaust and it was back to severe knock just as the boost is really making things happen. I know I have heard of this problem here before. My question is, what do I do now? The chip is R/A 93 chip and I have blue top injectors with a TE 44. Do the R/A chips run a little lean? Any help here would be appreciated.

No, tire spin ain't gonna make an engine knock.

Barring mechanical ills:

In first gear you're really using the MAF for the ecm to figure load, and fuel and timing.

If you look at the DS files from the Scanner Tech Board under the thread about DS runs, there is alot of info to gather and understand. The DS software is at www.chuengineering.com.

But again there are a million mechanical causes for knock in 1st gear.

REDS, I checked the motor mounts and they are in good condition, the D/S has been repleace recently and I have a torque strap on the engine. The tranny mount looks good too.
