is the fuel vapor canister necessary?
or can i remove it ??
its kinda getin in the way of my 9 in k&n

Youll get gas fumes with it removed. Especially in a garage.

I little trick is to get more room for the filter. Note the position of the mounting eras on the canister.

The idea here is to only use one bolt and rotate the canister over towards the fender for more room. The tab moved is closer to the engine

Remove canister and move/slide the one tab over that will interfere with it rotating all the way over in the formed dip it sits in.

Replace canister rotate it over with only one bolt holding it down . and the other bolt just screwed back in the hole or keep track of it if you care to return it "perfect showroom stock".

It will give you a few "

Mines been gone for 4 years now. Line is capped off going to it. Vent line from gas tank is run up filler neck and ziptied. (To be above fuel level)

Garage kept everyday. No fumes. No problems.

That being said. Some people do have the fume issue like TURBO NASTY said.

Use the search thread. This subject has been covered a 1000 times.

You can also move the fuel vapor canister down to the frame rail by the steering box. You will see a little notch in the fenderwell that almost looks like it was meant to be mounted there.:)

I wonder if a small inline charcoal filter for a fish tank would work...HMMMM

I've posted this before.

I moved mine to the rear bumper. Only issue was I had to run an electric line to it.

Years ago, a post on this board mentioned the car burning & the fire damage to his garage. Murphy was an optimist, if it can go wrong,I'll be there.
