I'm using an aluminum cell with a gm style gas gauge float. hooked up the wire in the factory harness to the float and grounded the other tab, but the guage stays pegged on full. After running out on the expressway last night I need to figure out how to get this to work. Anyone else using this setup?

I think you just to tap into the pink (might be white/pink) wire on the fuel harness that plugs into the pump. Ohm out the sender in the cell to make sure it's 0-90 ohm for GM.

That's how I have it hooked up. Pinkish red wire. Even if I take it straight to ground it doesn't move

Check the ground, I would think the gauge should drop if it's not grounded. Could the float be stuck? Had that happen on a double pump install.

I tried grounding the pink wire, bypassing the float. No dice.
