I have an 84 GN Im looking to upgrade injectors, would injectors off a 86-87 work on a hot-air? probably a stupid question but I would like to be sure. What size do you guys recomend to upgrade to? My motor is .030 over, ported and polished heads and intake manifold, stock turbo for now, ported 62mm throttlebody, will have alky? i heard go big so you dont run out of injector?

I am running 42.5 lbs injectors at 18.5 boost 60 % duty cycle. Better to go bigger injectors on the front end such as 60's with the right chip. My 2 cents. Chime in everyone. Best of luck. Brad

I run 42.5 lbs. injectors as well, currently running stock turbo, with TT chip, but have injectors to build on as I go. my 2 cents.

I'm running 60 lb. mototrons with a Tuner Pro Chip. They're complete Overkill for my plans (high 11's) but I had heard really good things about them. I've had stockers and 30's in the car but the 60's have had the best idle, I haven't been able to get the boost past 12lbs yet but even at that they're only running 50% duty cycle. When I took the car for emissions last year (with the 60's) I failed because it was actually running lean at idle too!!

I still have the 30lbers and a Turbo Tweak chip if your interested. injectors only have 10k miles on them.

I was also thinking 42.5 lbs, but the reason I ask one guy under the parts for sale is sellin 50 lbs just figured I would ask.

50 lbs are fine. The real issue is you need a chip burned for your injector size. You do not want to run out of injector size and have to buy bigger injectors and a new chip. Personally, I will never max out my 42.5 because most of my goals have been met. Good luck, Brad

i got 55's in mine. at 11.50's im still not seeing more the 60%

I see about 79% DC with 50's, 14.9psi
Some injectors have better spray pattern than others.
Belief it or not, size does not always matter.

To little, you run lean.
To big, you do not get the best atomization.
So, it is not the size of the injector, it is how you use it.

Im most likely going to get 42 lb injectors thanks for everyones opinion. Now I have another question, I know I need a chip burned for these injectors right? will the car still run ok without the chip? or do I need the chip right away? the car will be running before I get the chip thats why I ask.

I'd get the chip first, even with my 30lbers when I didn't have a chip the idle was really bad and it was running super rich. I didn't chance driving it like that.
