Ok I have a new problem I bought a fuel pressure gauge from a long respected board member here was claimed to b in working condition pretty much good as new anyway I go to install it today and it reads zero with key on car off it also reads zero with car on idling car runs fine but the gauge reads zero so I need advice here I'm thinking this gauge is no good ?

I'm gonna guess its an electrical fuel pressure guage not a mechanical, right?

If its mechanical and you have it hooked up to the fuel rail, yeah, its probably spent.....

but if its an electrial one then you might want to check if the sending unit is sending a signal , use an ohm meter and see what voltage is on the sending line.

what brand guage is it? give us more info and we might be able to help u out better.

Sorry about that it's a mechanical gauge it's a fuel presses gauge from kirbans performance I'm beginning to think it was a bad gauge from the beginning but trying to get some input before I jump the gun here thanx

If its mechanical, and you are running it off the end of the fuel rail, I think you have to remove the schrader valve...

Ur right ! I feel stupid but Of course I didn't know that it's my first time installing one so now what is the best way to remove this shrader valve? Will any gas be coming out of the rail Wen removed ? I don't wan to make a mess thanx

Let the pressure bleed down, or push the center to release it into a big rag or towel. Then use a regular bicycle schrader tire valve to remove it. No worries brother, it happened to me way back when too. ;)

You can remove it with the same tool used to remove a valve stem from a tire. If the car was just run (or fuel pump) then the fuel rail will have pressurized fuel in it. If you let it sit for a couple hours the pressure should go down and the schrader valve can be removed with some minor fuel seepage. Just put some shop rags under the fuel rail to soak up the fuel. I recommend that this be done outdoors.

Thanx much appreciated how long does it take for the pressure to bleed down on it's on own last time I had the car on was 1 pm

That is plenty of time - like squid4life said - you can push the button in the center of the schrader valve to relieve any pressure that is left before you unscrew the valve from the fuel rail.

Yep, I forgot I put one of those guages on mine 2 years ago down at richard clarks, these folks are exactly right you have to relieve the pressure and remove the valve core. Then re-attatch the guage and it should work fine.
