Fuel pressure is dropping to 0 instantly when engine is shutoff.

There is not fuel leaking anywhere....whats would cause this and is it important.

The car has been slowly leaking pressure down after installing 83#er, but not instantly like now. It previously would hold some pressure for a couple of hours, loosing about 15# per hour.

Hey Kevin,
Try a different regulator. I cannot see it being pump related as the relief valve tends to weaken over time and not over night. I can get a stocker (233) if you wanna try.. Let me know

did you loan your regulator to Mike?

His car was doing that with a couple of regulators until he put a new one on. I'm thinking one of them might be yours he was trying? You're welcome to use mine if you want.

try running a gallon or 2 of xylene in the gas to clean the injectors. Mine will do this every year or so (actually it drops faster then usual but not instantly) and I run some xylene thru and it cleans the injectors. This helps me..

If it is the pump check valve or the regulator...is it a performance issue? all seems well when engine is running.

When I had this problem it was a leaky injector.

I believe that www.gnttype.org has a diagnostic procedure that can narrow down the source. Check in their tech section, I think under fuel.

good luck,
Scott
