Greetings,

This might be normal or messed up. But I don't know.

I recently installed a RaceTronix hotwire and fuel pump kit with a Kirban billet adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I also have blue tops. Now here's the strange part. I can't get the regulator to go below 42 pounds. It will go up but bottoms out at 42.

Is this normal??? Or is the regulator messed up?

Thanks

42lb FP might be OK IF it is able to go down with vacuum applied.
It should be about 1PSI FP for every 2" vacuum.

Jack, the pressure doesn't move a lot between vacuum and no vacuum. Maybe a pound or two.

I don't think it is the fuel pump you sent me. I think it is the pressure regulator. But I'm going to put another guage on the rail and see if it's the gauge.

Any suggestions???

Pull the regulator off the rail exposing the line underneath it.
Go under the back of the car and un do the return line above the gas tank and blow out the line with compressed air. I had the same problem and it turned out my line had some crap in it.

 My new billet reg is doing same thing. except the lowest itll go is 40 l/off. The vac line only lowers it by 4-5psi at idle. My return line is good. Just dont be a mope like me and run it so loose that it looses its ability to respond upward to boost (and leans out on top).

Does your guage zero when it's off the car?? Those little rail guages take a crap all the time....check that first.
