Does anyone have any ideas wht my fuel pressure drops to zero as soon as the key is turned off.
Also I cannot adjust the fuel pressure more than about 3-4 psi.
The fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator are brand new. Car does the same thing with these new parts as it did with the old fuel pump and regulator.
Any ideas??? HELP????

you can't adjust it? what f/p regulator and what fuel pump do you have?
where does it go when you remove the vacum line?

The fuel pump has a check valve built in that is suppose to hold pressure when the key is turned off. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Not the end of the world. The car will still run fine. Just might take a extra second to start the motor.

How far can you lower fuel pressure?

With fuel line off the fuel pressure is 55PSI. I get it up to about 58PSI & no lower then the 55PSI.
I dont remember the brand, but it does the same thing with the old or new
fuel pressure regulator.

Sounds like the return line is crimped or otherwise restricted.

I assume you mean the rubber part of the return line at the fuel pump.
Which of the three rubber lines would that be? So I can check them.

No, any part of the return line from the base of the regulator to the tank fitting could be the problem. Crawl under and look for a flat or deformed spot in the tubing or a swollen rubber line.

Sounds like you have multiple problems with the bleed down and all. I'm having problems with my in-tank fuel hose breaking. This is a piece of Gates SAE30R10 submersible fuel hose ($20/ft!) specifically made for in tank use and it's split twice now in the month it's been in there. I'm dropping my tank again tomorrow to replace it with a $1.49 piece of Chinese hose from Advance. That's what had been in there for the past 9 yrs...
