what do u guys mean by line off when u talk about fuel pressure? thanks

Line off??

The line is there to do 2 things:
1. When cruising and idle, the vac present lowers the static fuel pressure about 4-6psi so the engine runs cleaner.
2. When the engine goes into boost, the boost pressure is applied to the regulator so the fuel pressure rises on a 1:1 ratio w/ the amt of boost being made. This keeps the fuel flow at the proper rate, as the injectors have to spray against the boost pressure in the manifold. IE; base FP is 40, boost is 15: the FP at 15# boost HAS to be 55. [This is an IMPORTANT check when troubleshooting the performance of the engine.]

The base FP is set w/ the engine running and the vac line off, so you have a net value to work from. If the reg is working and the rest of the vac lines, etc, are OK, when you hook the line back up, the pressure should drop 4-6PSI.

It is VITALLY important that the vac lines be in good condition and TIGHT at ALL connections... Failure to do this can result in a blown engine.
Alot of folks use small Zip ties to secure the connections...Whew!
I'm done!!:D :D :D
