Fuel pump issues

I have a 87 gn with fuel pump troubles... Starting at the pump working back there's what I have... 12v on pink ground on black and ground on gray.... Move back the the connector in the trunck and brown wire still has a short or ground.... Where does the brown wire go from the trunck... Or maybe you guys might know what's shorting this ckt out....
