fuel pump

i have a reds xp in the tank fuel pump and its making some funky noises. i know it is loud, but every now and again you hear a noise that sounds like vvvvvvvvv, for about five seconds. anybody think its starting to take a dump. latlely ive been getting some knock and 02s are not accurate. they go high and low. the blms will go to 150 while cruising normal so im thinking i got a lean problem. today i put some toulene in the tanl[ 2 gallons] and was still getting knock. please dont think im stupid for asking this , but when your in park and giving it gas loooking at the fuel gauge shouldnt the fuel pressure raise and not go lower. also, the fuel pump is hot wired. thanks in advance

I would think that if the pump is still keeping up with the need, then you should be fine. Have you tried to contact Red and ask him directly? Seems to me if you go right to the source, you'll get the best information.

I don't recall the fuel pressure going up drastically while revving in park or neutral.

I can tell you that when I sit in park and rev the throttle the fuel pessure does go up a little. Maybe 1 or 2 lbs. It does not go down
