i have a basically stock 87 Gn would it be wise to buy a WALBRO 242 44gph fuel pump? please respond

IMO the best pump going is the Walbro 340. As long as you're at it, a hot wire kit is a good move as well. Lots of threads on this subject. Check out http://www.racetronix.com/

Why not go with the 340 Walbro instead. You may want to do other mods in the future that would need benefits of the 340. Spend the $$$ once, drop the tank once and be done with it.
