Ordered a G-tech Pro off of ebay and I decided to take it with me to work and try it out in my van. I'm screwing around with the thing, pushing buttons and reading the manual. All of a sudden it shows that I just ran a 16.8 at 109.1mph, thats pretty good. Since I was in park and hadn't left my driveway yet;) .

The only thing I'm having problems with is the horsepower feature. I get the thing to level out at 0, I press the button and it says GO, I go, but it just continues to blink GO, no horsepower numbers?

I bought one too and now understand why they were so cheap.

Mine works like crap!!! I think they are sponsored by the police department because you'll get a ticket trying to get this dopey piece of junk to work in any consistent way. Here's a plan: Make 200 test runs, (none will be close to the same. )Then divide those results by 200, multiply by 2 and flip a coin to determine your data about horsepower, etc.

It's a cheap lesson we all know about, but disregard, when it comes to us sometimes: if it' seems too good to be true, it isn't!

HEY, we are not ricers, we have real legitimate fast cars, so let's just forget these. I'm going to sell mine in a package deal with this

I've heard pretty good things about the g-techs. Even here, people recommend them for tuning every now and then. I hope the quality control hasn't changed, as i live in Wyoming, and it's just about my only option.

I've made some test runs of my own along I-80 in Wyoming...you should have a great time!!:D

they are not too hard to use, mine is very consistant, and actually has been pretty close when i compare what the car runs on the track verses what it has Gteched before. I never tried the horsepower setting , but 0-60 and 1/4 mile are simple

Check out: www.gtechforum.com Lurk through the threads, there have been a few issues about those eBay cheapies and there are some solutions to those problems. My IE or server is on the blink so I couldn't post any direct links for you but try in problems/troubleshooting first.

i have the standard one, and while its not all that accurate (a few 10ths off) it is pretty consistant, as far as 0-60 and 1/4 mile and trap speeds are concerned. hp is a joke with them. i've been everywhere from 150 clear up to 375, not to mention the inconvience of puting in your weight every time...

the cornoring g's have given me a lot of problems, it tells me i get about .85g's i know my car handles good for a big ol brick, but not that good; not a chance.

I use mine quite a bit, i made probably 10 1/4 mile passes with it the other day getting my fuel pressure right, thats something i never could have done without it, and i wouldnt' have the time to do that at the track, that alone makes it worth it. a little trick i've found is leave from a dead stop with no boost and then just watch your 0-60 times that will be easy and wont' require a long road. i dont' think it will work for the faster cars out there though. (traction problems)

i don't know how the pro works but on mine to get hp i have to amke a run up to about 80 or so and then slow it back down to around 40 before it will give me a hp reading. better yet get a friend to watch it for you and let you know that the highest number it shows is. on mine i can do it myself on an open road since its big bright red numbers, i dont' think i'd try to read an lcd screen at 110...
