g87 rear end ok???

looked at my rpo codes to see if car had posi but it doesnt it saig g87 with 3.42 gears so should i change it out for a posi traction(G80) or will it be fine the way it is

depends on what you are planning to do with the car. As a daily driver it will be fine if you want to do some drag racing you will want the posi. Either way it is stil the 8.5 rear so it is a good strong rear end.

so i can add posi to the rear end or do i need to switch the rear end out?

you can just put a posi unit in it and be fine.

That's what I did. Get an Eaton posi from Gears are us.
