Don, Harry, Jim, Patrick or Rod,

Do you think we could get some pricing and other benifits of the new BB T SeriesTurbos?
How much faster will these units spool?
Please talk to us about this exciting new product.

Maybe they sould offer me a job.

Taken from www.precisionturbo.net

1. Exceptionally Crisp Throttle Response
2. Spools Up to 15% Quicker than Journal Bearing Turbos
3. Quicker 0-60 Elapsed Times
4. More Tolerant of Marginal Lubrication
5. Less Chance of Seal Leakage
6. Improved Damping & Control over Shaft Motion
7. No Thrust Bearing, which Eliminates a Weak Link
8. Maximum Efficiency, Performance & Reliability at an Affordable Price

I would like to hear if these will be offered in a Buick freindly housing or not. That's the key.

oh come on guys...let's not be spreading vicious rumors now!

seriously...yes we have a new line of Garrett T-series ball bearing turbos that just came out but right now they are designed for the sport compact crowd...I can assure you I am trying everything I can to get these things in Buick housings...the main thing we are waiting on is making a water line kit for these things so you don't FRY your turbo by not hooking up the water lines...

so give it time...I don't have an exact time frame but I'll let everyone know when we will start offering them...you just never know what else we might come up with!

Don,

A lot of people do not use the water lines on the GT BB Turbos in Drag Racing Only Applications. Are there reasons to think that this would not work the same with the New T Series Turbos???

What is the pricing on this stuff?
Do you add X amount to a regular turbo to get it?
I might have to save up for a couple 70MM GTQ BBs with oncenter turbine housings.....

John,

let's not get too antsy now...I know all this is very exciting but I can't give out alot of information right now because it could change...yes there are possibilities for the Buick turbos but for right now, I have to wait for the green light...if I find out anything I will definitely let you guys know...if it can be done, we will do it

Don,

I will send you a PM!

Adding a water cooled turbo to our cars could be tricky. You will need a coolant reservior above the turbo to supply coolant after shut-down. The coolant will boil and a supply of coolant needs to be above the turbo to prevent cooking of oil in bearings. If you choose not to run the water lines, I would fill the void in the turbo with something just as a heat sink, don't know what, but something should be there.

Look at import cars with factory water cooled turbos. All have an extra coolant tank with a second radiator cap above the turbo. Burps out steam after shut-down, sucks back coolant after motor gets cold and coolant shrinks in volume.

Water cooled turbos are mainly designed to aid in cooling the turbo after motor is shut off. Talk to Jonh C. about the benifits and problems.

I forgot to mention...yeah you sometimes see people not running the water lines to the ball bearing turbos but these are on RACE ONLY cars and those cars will make a quick run and then shut down right away...they don't drive around all day on the street...this is why you need to have water going through them on street cars because they will just melt the center cartridge (I've seen it!).

Like I said...give it some time...I'll keep you guys posted if anything should happen...if anyone is going to be at the SEMA show next week, come by our booth, we are going to have some COOL stuff on display! :)

Mines been water cooled for 2 years now.

The feed line is up top and the drain line on the bottom, both uphill slightly to their feed and drain tubes so there's water in the feed line at shutoff 5/8" hose, and water going uphill on the drain line wanting to flow back downward to the housing with no flow.

Never noticed any lowering of the coolant.

Doesn't boil or burble much longer than the bearings take to spin down after shutdown in the driveway.

Easy to plumb with NAPA off the shelf stuff.

Hopefully it helps under WOT and cooldown. :)

Only 10k on it so far so who knows. Innovative turbo.

Last we heard from Harry was BB turbos don't work. :p

Quotes from PTE website look like what Jack Cotton was telling them for years.
