I paid $3.60 yesterday for 89 octane.

Hope this is a sign of things to come but I doubt very long:mad:

I heard recently that the price of oil was dropping slightly, but we wouldn't see any effect for a little while. I'm still paying almost $4 a gallon where I'm at. Man I remember when I first starting driving (1999) I could fill up my car for $16, I miss those days, I hope we're on our way back.....

we are avg about 3.89 for 87 octane locally and others at $.15 higher each/ That is a good thing when you have 2 cars that run 93 oct....

I filled up the vette this am at an Arco station just outside of Long Beach, Kali for $4.34 a gal of prrem crapo 91 octane, and happy to find it at that price. Brand name stations / brands around here are about $.10 to $.15 more.

It would be nice to see it come back down to a more affordable level but I doubt it ever will.

I fulled up the truck here and payed 3.56. I just hope that it will atleast stableise that would make things a bit easer. You could budget things better.

here in chicago it's not going to drop much. between mayor dic* er daley, our county a-hole pres. todd stroocker and the great gov blojobavich, we are all screwwwed in this city and state.

They squeezed us enough for a little while. They are just taking a break to take the heat off of them. They accomplished what they wanted. You are still going to be paying a lot more than you were last year at this time and will be be happy that prices dropped. Age old strategy by the oil companies and it worked again.

who cares? your going to buy it no matter what. Nothing we can do about it.

Its the yearly summer gouge. Every year there are threads here about gas prices. They go up every summer. This year especially with it being an election year.

Pretty rare for the price to drop in the middle of summer tho. OPEC has recognized that $4.50 a gallon is the most we'll tolerate. Pesident Bush proposing to lift the offshore drilling ban and the 24 hour coverage of people complaining and talk of alternate fuels will probably keep the prices in this range for a while...depending on who is elected. ;)

Hard to believe I used to see 76 cents a gallon. I sure the older guys remember cheaper than that
