I am going to install a boost and knock gauge is there any downside to installing in the center councel vice on the pillar? I just think it looks cleaner in the center

Yes there are downsides. You have to look down and away from the road to see what kind of boost you are running. With the A pillar mount it is more in your line of sight with the road. I always run oil and water gauges under the radio and boost and wideband gauges on the A pillar.

I don't care for the pillar gauges, draws a little extra attention that I don't want.

I have my boost gauge on the hood right next to my fuel pressure gauge. I don't mind drawing a little attention.:)

You could mount them up high.

There is a dual gauge holder that sits between the T-Tops
