Hello,

I have noticed a lot of people use the twin console gauge pod. I was curious if the gauges are viewable nicely when driving. I have never sat in a GN that had these, so i have no idea.

Does the guages look off when looking at it while staying still in your seat or do you have to move your head a little to see it correctly? Gauge pod

Also, have any of you used these holders before? I'd think they'd work good, if they could turn around too, So then in any position you're in, you could read the gauge correctly with ease. Other pod

Thanks a lot,

Adam

You have to glance down to see them. I have my oil and water gauges there. The ones I need to "eyeball" frequently are in the A pillar (boost/knock). Which gauges are you wanting to put there?

Tried 'em- didn't like 'em. I have a virtually new GN grey mount I'll sell cheap. I have my tach and boost gauge on the pillar now. All I ever have to do is glance at them(slight move of the eyes), while rapidly accelerating(common occurance). I try to get the right lane at the track so I can watch my boost, and the tree, at the same time. I guess: if your arms were too short, or you liked your seat WAY up on the steering wheel :eek: : you might have to turn your head to look at them. I suppose the console would be a good place for gauges that aren't critical to view at speed though. Your "other pods" will require holes to be poked all over your dash for mounting. Personally- I think they look cheesy, but: differn't strokes, and all that! ;)

i was just makin sure everything was fine and not worry bout the gauges being at a bad angle where you gotta move a little while driving to see them read correctly, Ive always thought they'd be okay when lookin at pictures, but yet pictures can be deseeving!

Also, i'd just have the oil and water temp down there too, something that's important, but yet not as important as boost or knock!

You can figure it out for yourself easily. Just hop in the car, drive down the street at WOT, and look at your radio. Just don't get fixated on it!! ;)

(i dont have a GN yet, but will have one in a few months)

But when i drive, i imagine how the view will be with A pillar gauges, scanmaster and the console gauges, so i do get a good idea of how it'll be....kinda.

I've got water & oil in the center console,a single "A" pillar w/ my boost and my Scan-Master on top of the radio pod (S/M can go on top of dash as well,wherever you feel comfortable)
The "A" pillar gauge pod can be placed to fit yor line of sight on the car, you can slide it up & down a bit for best view angleI & then get some HEAVY-DUTY double sided tape (none of the dollar store junk) to mount it as the sun will get to it and break the adhesive down if it is the crappo stuff. :eek: I have a dual "A" pillar pod I will be installing later when I decide which additional gauge to install. :confused:

FWIW: I went to the junk yard & bought another "A" pillar trim piece ($5.00) & painted it grey (think I'm going to paint the S/M housing too); I'm going to drill a slotted hole in it to feed the wires & tubing through to clean it up a bit.

I just rivited my pod onto the stock pillar cover in my old Stang, worked great and took like 10 seconds.

DIdn't think of rivets :rolleyes: might give that a shot. I'm using a spare pillar cover 'cause the orig. color is impossible for mr to find :eek: ;
