The fan does come on and run like it should. I have done searches here on the board and tried everything that I had read that other people had success with. Like I said before, while the car is moving it cools down really well, but as soon as the car stops the temps go up. Just not moving enough air. The fan comes on at 165 and when I turn the A/C on it turns onto high speed. The fans does what it is supposed to do with the exception of cooling. The only thing that hasn't been upgraded is the fan. I am 100% positive the fan isn't drawing enough air through the condenser and radiator.

Or maybe the "upgraded" F body radiator was really a down grade? How many miles are on your car? Mine is over 200k with stock radiator and fan. Temp stays at 185 per scan tool. Actually it was my other car that had the faulty radiator fan sensor. When the temp got to 210 the fans kicked on but didn't stay on for long. They also came on ok with the A/C. I see you are located in IN, not too far from me. So since we haven't had any 95 degree weather lately, this must have been a problem for you 6 months ago. I still think your problem is that sensor. I dunno, maybe I'm just stubborn. Good luck, whatever you decide to do. Let me know if I can help. I'm in Champaign, IL.

Not sure how many are you are aware but we did change our fan suppliers. The old Ramchargers have been gone for a while. This is why they are not $135.00 like they were years ago. The wiring & fans motors are a lot nicer then they use to be. The factory wiring is not adequate for the ground on a dual fan. We use to sell a simple adapter but had fan failures.. But when we increased the ground from a the battery we had no problems.
I felt bad with great customers spending $135 then 3-5 years later losing a fan. So with a caspers harness & the newer hi quality fans we have not had 1 failure on these in the last 3 years reported to us.
If any one has used our fan & an adapter harness in the last 3 years let me know.

We spoke to manufacture about 2 weeks ago & asked us if we would be interested in buying 50 sets of fans at a discounted price.
I was thinking of doing a group purchase if people would be interested in The beginning of March.
If you would be let me know & I'll see what we can do price wise. We can get good deals like this in quantities in winter months. I can speak to Caspers as well & see what we could do on 50 fan relay harness kits as well. Let me know if any one would be interested.

Turbot3.8,

I think you hit the nail on the head as to what I am saying. I have upgraded the radiator, flushed the cooling system put on new hoses, thermostat and water pump. I have checked and double checked the sensors and they work fine. I even did the foam insulation around the shroud. RMI tried as well. The only thing left is the fan.

GNRick,

I am 36 miles from the Indiana/Illinois state line on 74. The car has 89,000 miles on it. I had problem last summer but nothing major. The A/C just couldn't keep the car cool on a hot day if I was stopped. Once I got up to speed the A/C would freeze you out and the coolant temp would drop to 165-170 range. On the 2011 power tour while we were in Nashville it was in the upper 90's and on the interstate the engine temps were 170 but when I came to a stop the temps went to 210 and the air conditioning couldn't keep up. The temps don't get to a dangerous level.

The sensor is pretty accurate. I have a temp gun and the fan comes on when the temp gun is reading a couple degrees from 165. I have went through this cooling system with a fine toothed comb and now all that is left is the lack of airflow while in slow moving traffic. For example if the temps get up to 200 and I get on the highway the temp will drop to 170 within a mile or two. Even if I just do 30mph the temps drop pretty good. I think the R-134 and the age of the fan motor are why I am not getting the cooler temps.

I understand the Alradco fan system is awesome but I see it like putting a huge turbo on a stock motor. It is more than needed and is overkill. I know it is a good product but I just don't want to spend more than needed that is why I am asking about Brian's set up because I think it may meet my needs and keep an extra $100 in my pocket and since I also need the box in kit I will be able to get both for the price of the alradco fans.

Brian,

Thanks for the input on the new motors. I hope I didn't offend you by saying that I didn't want to ask your opinion. I know you are trying to sell good products to us and I have bought from you for my car and my father in laws ugly Aerocoupe. No business man in their right mind is going to say bad thing about what they sell. I just want reviews from the customers.

Thanks for the input I have gotten so far from everyone.

Do you guys think the stock fans are limited in output? or insufficient? Because I was thinking of installing an 86-87 GN fan on a chevy 350( for a cleaner look). The motor is aprox. 375 hp. From the above posts it looks like my question is already answered.
PS . I heard the Chevy ls1 fans fit real well and do their job.
