I just want to update this that the engine is running great. No gear winding sound.

It's typically a gear drive with dual idler gears that makes noise. This would be a design similar to the Pete Jackson gear drive that goes on a SBC. I haven't seen a gear drive for a Buick V6 that has dual idler gears.

Rollie, I understand your apprehension, would you be willing to pm me your number so I can call and you can then judge if you think I’m genuine? I’m a dragracer from the UK, I too would not be interested in meeting in a hotel, if you were to consider posting it I could pay you via PayPal as goods and services, that way we’d both be protected.
I hate to say it but I am desperately after a gear drive, I can’t get hold of one in the UK so thought I’d try and bag myself one whilst I’m out here on holiday.
