I've come across several postings (here and elsewhere) that rave about GM thread sealant, how it prevented head bolt water leaks when other sealants did not, etc.
Part# 105280 was mentioned (now obsolete), but superceded by # 12346004

Permatex's catalog actually cross-refs both the 105280 and 12346004 to their "High Temperature Thread Sealant", which is both a sealant and thread locker that cures anaerobically in a few hours. (I wouldn't think you'd want a thread locker on head bolts??).
The GM sealant does NOT appear to be an ordinary non-hardening paste, such as the white Permatex #14, which some have specifically complained about and the ARP thread sealant, as well).
So the question is, Based on experience is the GM product somehow a more reliable, better overall thread sealant ?
