can someone tell me how to identify a GN motor how to tell what year it came from t-type or GN that kind of stuff

last 3 digits of casting # will be 109. for the heads you want the last 4 to be 8445. www.gnttype.org has a nice engine history page that will help you out more.

There are plenty of '109/'8445 non-turbo motors out there.

Casting number off the intake is the best way to confirm the turbo set-up style/year. As for the block itself, you never know for sure what's been done to it or where it came from.

A 6109 block usually came in i think 85-87 models, to identify a turbo block you would have to see if the oil return boss is there for the turbo, also see if it has rollet fillets on crank for rods and mains,if only on mains it probably came out of a normally aspirated carb motor.i think 8445 heads are on from 84-87 motors.
