I just sold my '86 Monte SS, and I'm trying to decide which route to take.
I've been looking at either..... an old musclecar (late 60's-70 GM models), or buying another GN (I did have an '86 at one time). If I decide to go back to a Buick, are there any particular things I should (or should not) be looking for?? It would be an 86-87 (prefer 87 though).

I say go & buy an older muscle car 60'70's.
Since you had a GN before it is time to try something different.

If you want to try something differant this time around, start reading this board before you jump into another one, then by that time you will have looked at a few, learned alittle about them, and THEN buy one. Now you will know how to make it run good, and look good. Jump over to the gnttype.org and search the sight.. There is some really good info over there.

How much money do you have to spend? How much hands on work do you like to do? My guess is that you would get a lot more GN for your money than a lates 60's, early 70's muscle car.... and potentially a lot quicker too, with better gas mileage.

Just a couple of things to take into consideration.

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably check out above mentioned board as well. That's why I'm checking around, asking questions, and seeing what's available, before I make any final decisions. I'll probably look to spend around 12-13K. Not looking to do any "hands on" work right away, just want a nice car I can drive, and do future mods. And yea, some of the older car prices are starting to be a little ridiculous, so I can probably get "more" car for less money.

The only reason I said 60 or 70's cars is that once you own one of these beasts is you will come FLYING back to a GN.

The GN's are more cost effective, give a great ride & power for the $$

My 70 GTO trade for 86 GN was a no brainer.. Sure the GTO is worth more today. But that 455 was a gas sucker! & sooner or later that 455 was gonna tear up the drive line :(
