I was out cruising around today testing my new camera mount when I happened upon another GN. It was a pretty amazing coinkydink because I never have the camera with me and never see other GNs.

The audio is a bit annoying because the camera was rattling on the mount. The GN appears at about 1:20 into it.

I know - it's pretty boring. I'd have deleted it if it weren't for that other GN. I was trying out different places to mount the camera. It's a suction cup mount so my options are limited. In that vid it was on the right 1/4 glass. If I mount it on the rear window I can get more of the gauges and stuff, which is good for the track. If I mount it on the windshield I get a look down the hood which is neat but also not real exciting.

Hey those of my stomping grounds.:D

No I wasn't the other GN in the video. However, this afternoon I was in the area right where you video ended there on Landing Rd. I was with the family in the Subaru.

Yep - I swung a U-turn at McNear Excavating. I wasn't really going that way, I just thought I'd follow the GN around. He got on Rt. 80 which would have been fun but it would've taken me farther from home.

Coool video Jim! It's not often you drive around and run into another GN like that! I have a few mounts I've been using. I do have a suction cup mount as well. Mount that sucker on the outside of the car like I did here.....

Little music.. smoke em up.. the only way to fly! Hopefully I'll have it on some cars at the track this summer for some cool vids!

Cool!

I was tempted to stick it to the outside of the car today but I haven't washed it in a while and don't want to tatoo a big round scratch into it. Plus the prospect of potentially losing my multi-hundred-$$ camera is not good either. But I'll probably give it a whirl over the weekend!

Do you have one like this....

Works real nice. Holds about 200lbs. I'm gonna hook that sucker on some hoods at the track this year. Can't wait to see how they come out! :D

Yes - that's the one I have. The Gripper or something like that. It's kind of big but it tucks up to the right of the rear view mirror nicely.

EDIT: Here's a still from a video shot from the windshield. Might be good for the track.

Boy I miss my car, cool video Jim.

Thanks. I'm still figuring out the best setting for the camera (it's a digital camera, not a camcorder so it will never be great). Obviously the setting in that vid was not it.

Here's a still from the wide angle lens with the mount on the back window. I think this might be a winnner for track filiming. The problem is that you can see the auto focus has focused on the seats. I'll have to play around with it.

Really cool video dude.... I think you should take more videos and share them like that.

The way the video through the front windshield was pointing, looked almost fake the way it took such a wide angle shot. I thought that was really neat! The light coming through the T-tops helped too, I think.

More people should do that, and share different parts of the country where they live. By the way, where'd ya get that camera mount? Can you take a pic of that setup?

Looks good Jim seems like the same one as mine. Those are some slick mounts and you can do allot with them. I also have one mounted in my car all the time as seen here...

This ones kinda cool because you can moun the camera on it and look thru the back window to see the best line of site with it. I have a mini DV camcorder with a remote that I want to try out. Be nice if I could ever get the thing in my car and use it!

It's hard to shoot out the window and drive around the in the day light. The camera just wants all the light from outside. The T tops should help some. I did have my t top shades in on this one. I'll have to try with them out. I just need more time in the car to play around! I wish there were more hours in the day!

Here is the video I took a few years back with the mounted camera amount as seen above..

What are you using to edit your videos? I need something to rotate the video clips. I found some stuff on the 'Net (not free though) that does a decent job rotating but I'm not sure it has the best 'effects'.

Jim

I use a few things depending on what I'm doing. Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 but I also use Sony Vegas. A good one to start out with is windows movie maker. Real simple and easy to use for some basic stuff.

Windows Movie Maker doesn't allow me to rotate clips. I made the attached with a trial version of ULead (roated the clip 90 degrees since I had filmed it 'sideways). I like Adobe's stuff so I'll have to check out the Premiere Pro CS3.

HA HAAA!!!! Somebody posted "jim is gay" on your u tube comments. For some reason, that caught me off guard, made me spit up my soda. ahh... gotta love those high school kids.

I know right damn wipper snappers! The funny part is the guy who posted that is the guy on the road side when I took off. Right after I get going you'll see a guy with a camera on the side. I oringally wanted to combine the 2 video's and make something cool. when I come back he tells me his battery died! So after all that he posts Jim's gay! Damn kids!

Jim when you cruise around with the mount like that your sposta do a burn out somewhere along the line!! :D

You know, I did do a small burnout but the lens cover flipped in front of the video and started flapping around. Very embarassing. I've removed it and will have to try again tomorrow :-)

Goddammit. I didn't realize until I watched your vid that I used the same music behind mine. If that's not ghey I don't know what is. I'm going to have to change it out. Stay tuned.
