GNX reproduction turbo shield

Looking for a reproduction of the GNX turbo shield with the letters GNX stamped into it. Does anyone have one or know where they can be bought?

if i recall Joes repro ones were $375 new. Not saying anyone wouldnt part with one for under 200 but just a heads up on why they are looking the $ they are.

I do know the value of a real GNX and your car is the holy grail for use Turbo Buick fans. I'm not trying to fool anyone by making a clone. I'm not trying to de-value your car. You need to relax and not take yourself so serious. It sounds like you are insecure about your car being "special". For those of us who have regular GNs or T-types, which is the majority of the folks on this website, $800 + for a turbo shield is stupid. If you can't see that then you are stupid!

"JUST A BUNCH OF STROKERS" OK i'm stupid, Your the one that want's to pay $200 for a cover that's worth $800 or more, that sold new for the $375 range? Bottom line is if you don't wan't to pay you can't play. Most turbo buick/ GNX owners know the fair valu of hard to find parts, nos or other.

Let me give you a basic education in value. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay. The guy who bought a Mopar or Shelby musclecar two years ago at Barrett-Jackson and paid almost a half of a million dollars, can't sell it for half that much today. People get these inflated values in their heads are just fooling themselves. While the cars are nice, You are a idiot to pay several hundred grand for something that once cost two thousand dollars. At the end of the day, It's still just a car. Get a grip on reality. Are you mad, good, I like you mad. Now piss off:smile:

GNX is the name, just like rolex...

GNX is all in the name, just like expensive cars... you are buying the name not the product of actual price...

GNX shields reproductions recently sold on ebay for $660 plus another one had buy it now around $1200...

I was thinking of cloning my GN into a street driven daily driver, show car, race car... GNX CLONE, the cost to do is about $30,000.

Rather high if I wanted to sell it, but worth it if I had daily driver GNX, most people only see it crusing down the street and most people at car shows would not even know, you would need to see the RPO code in the trunk to see T2L missing...

I AM LOOKING FOR GNX PARTS... NEXT IS instrumentation and suspension...

someone will step up, if not it is a project that is fun to do, got my original t-top 87 GN since I bought it in 1988 with 153 miles, now with 38,000 miles...

I may even swap out the fixed mast antenna on GN#2 for power antenna... if you want it, you have to pay it... the GNX is rare but the parts that go on GN's also go on GNX's, example grills and bezels... got me 4 sets of grills and bezels... and 2 GN's, better than mutual funds or money in the bank...

located in Wisconsin, how many GNX's do you see driven, not many... but I am saving up to buy one GNX... why buy a car I don't drive... my gn ttop is driven rarely due to low miles and excellent condition, just enough to keep oils, gaskets flowing...

I basically wanted the turbo shield because I like many of the styling cues that Buick did with the GNX. I will never fool anyone with my GN since it is a T-top car.
I have several friends who have some of the finest examples of real GNXs you could get. One friend had a GNX that he polished every line and tube. It was detailed to the max. He took first place at the 25th Buick Nationals and it is a consistent show winner locally. My other friend has a 3000 mile, all original GNX that he bought for investment purposes.

There is or was a Vendor who was making nice Covers at a decent price.
Do a search and you might find it.

Bottom line is if you don't wan't to pay you can't play.

Thats why their called the FORTUNATE 547 and the reason the GNX option was $10,995.00 way back in 1987.

If you can get your hands on these parts now I would suggest you get them before the price goes even higher because their not going down in price anytime soon in my opinion
